Loss of power, no start

Hi, new to group and hello to fellow members

Looking for help and advice

2.8 Coupe 1999 118k km

Motorway journey of 300km came to an end when loss of power resulted in pulling over and no start

Coupe transported back into the garage where we have started to diagnose issues

Diagnostic tool highlights the following issues

DME issues - P0101 air-mass flow sensor

EGS Faults x 2 can't read on this tool for what ever reason

The car will turn over and cough to start and die, I've cleaned the air mass flow sensor and deleted the code

I don't believe this is the issue the car would start and run rough with the sensor

Looking at fuel issue, when the car decided to stop working we had just over 1/2 a tank of gas, however now the dial shows empty with the fuel light on

Checked fuel pump fuses x 2 all good, so next step to find the fuel pump and sender and investigate, I think the pump or sender has failed, connections corroded

Any advise on this or other possible solutions please feel free to post

Any advice on fuel pump removal / fitting again very much appreciated

Check for blocked fuel filter, fuel pressure ok in the rail. Unplug the MAF see if it runs better (to confirm if MAF issue). Cam position sensor. You need to get it on a proper code reader really otherwise you are guessing ..like I am

Re your fuel gauge.

To asked a silly question have you tried putting a couple of gallon in the tank to eliminate no fuel due to a faulty reading gauge.

Hi, it was over 1/2 full when the car stopped

Moving on we've no priming of the fuel pump at ignition on (silent), fuel rail pressure was zero

Looking at changing the fuel pump sender unit
