Real sad news to hear the passing of Chris Rea. A Teesside lad from Middlesbrough who never forgot his home roots. His Dad had a cafe in Boro which I used to go to for lunch when I was at college back in early 70s.
Saw Chris in concert about 4 times, highlight was a 10min guitar rendition of “Road to Hell” at Newcastle City Hall - brilliant, unforgettable.
RIP Chris Rea

3 litre Z3 pretending to be Italian exotica. Two previous E89 Z4s.
Met him a couple of times. We chatted about cars! He loved his cars and was a really nice, normal bloke.
RIP.

Fantastic guitarist. Been a fan all my life, I loved his later blues albums especially. With all his health issues it felt like he'd really lived a life where he could write from that perspective!
RIP Chris🎸

Very sad news, one of the best. I was surprised to hear about all his heath problems.

Chris Rea appeared in a recent showing of an old Christmas Gone Fishing episode (2020) with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse when they met up at The Crathorne Arms south of Middlesborough. He didn't look well back then and was taking 30 odd tablets every day and he explained his health problems in detail. Worth watching on catch up.
