Greetings all,
My 2001 Z3 came with the aero side vents/gills and I'm wanting to remove them. They are attached, seemingly from the factory, with completely different clips than the other two styles (the standard and the M style), so all the advice I've seen for the standard style doesn't work. Someone called these "spire-nuts." Here they're called "Push-On Fasteners": https://www.springmasters.com/push-on-fasteners/
Can anyone more experienced with body work tell me the best way to remove these without damaging the aero vent piece? The only thing I can think of is to very carefully cut each metal clip off with either fine-nosed snips or a dremel and avoid cutting into the plastic columns.
