Hi everyone and thanks for the add. šŸ‘

Recently acquired a 2002 Z3 2.2 Sport in Atlanta Blue from a lovely guy in Prestatyn, North Wales.

I’m looking to add some personal touches, the first of which is Chrome Side Gills / Grills to match the Chrome Windscreen Surround. šŸ˜

I’ve sourced a pair in lovely condition and hoping to get them fitted this weekend. From what I can see, they’re held on with a single grub screw and multiple ā€œdoor cardā€ fixings. I’ve removed the grub screws but what’s the next step; do I try to push the fixings through from the back to remove the grill or does it slide off in some way? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I have a pack of door card fixings on standby.

Apologies for the rather simple question but I’m new to BMW’s and don’t want to cock up / break anything. šŸ™

Squeeze the tabs from behind with needle nose pliers then push them through from behind.

Greetings all,
My 2001 Z3 came with the Aero side vents and I'm wanting to remove them. They are attached, seemingly from the factory, with completely different clips than the other two styles (the standard and the M style). Can anyone more experienced with body work tell me how to remove these without damaging them? The only thing I can think of is to very carefully cut each metal clip off with either fine-nosed snips or a dremel and avoid cutting into the plastic columns.

If you plan on selling these I'll be interested

Yeah, good call. Though I've found other threads not car related where this is discussed, and they basically suggest the same things I'm contemplating. Or to use a pick to bend the teeth up one by one - but I don't think that would work well here.
