The throttle cable (pt num 35411164834) on my 2.8 z3 needed replacing.

BMW don't make them anymore so I had to source elsewhere
I found JJ cables on Facebook, based in Banbury, others I know have had great experiences with them

He said he cannot reuse the hook on the pedal end of the cable
So we found a triumph clevis (that JJ has in stock)(pic attached) that goes over the hole where the hook went, and then a pin goes through it

I couldn't use the original gromit so I cut a piece of hose pipe to stop the pin from rattling around. You wouldn't believe how well this fitted

JJ was quite busy, but he did it for a very reasonable price.
So the cable now has a brand new inner and outer, and looks brilliant

Thanks to JJ cables for that

Chris.

They only reused the outer mounting parts like, the gromit near the brake servo, and the bit that goes through the firewall

So in summary they only reused the bits they could not recreate as they are BMW special

Hey Chris,

Do you happen to have kept any measurements of the cable? E.g. length and wire gauge etc?

Cheers
Jelte

Here is the final result!!

Very pleased indeed, works like a charm

Instead of the rubber grommet, I used a piece of hosepipe to stop the pin from rattling around, it fits perfectly!

@liebrand

I could measure diameter of the inner (silver cable) and the outer diameter (black shielding) if that could help you?

Hmmm

I have just realised, this is the cable I got custom made, so the dimensions may differ a bit to genuine

If those measurements would still be useful to you then, I am happy to go ahead, but be aware it could be slightly different

And, as I forgot to state I can only measure the diameters of the inner and outer, as the cable itself is on the car
