Evening all, had my car about 6 Months now. Came out of a C5 RS6, Absolutely loved it but wanted something a bit more ‘sports car’ and cheaper to run!
It’s got a few bits of rust and could do with a service and general tidying up.
I was very much enjoying it but sadly about 6-7 weeks ago I found a small crack in the boot floor around the diff mount. Pretty gutted and glad I bottled it and didn’t take it on track (which I’d planned to!).
Luckily, car is off to Lee at the Z-Shed for repairs tomorrow! Can’t wait to get it back. Took it out and checked all the fluids etc before the 50 mile trip round the M25.

hoping to use this thread to keep a track of all my tinkering with the car!

Great idea Graham

I picked a low mileage 2.8 in late July, and traded it 3 weeks later for a 52k mile M Roadster (luckily got what i paid for the 2.8). Since then the M has cost me:

replaced:
Clock Spring - to get the airbag light off
Hoses for the hydraulic steering - leaking and complaining
Polybelts - all cracked so 3 all replaced to catch them early

assesed as ok for a year:
steering rack is going to need replacing - think i need to find a reconditioned unit
track rods will need doing at same time
oil 'weep' somewhere further up the engine than the sump. not enough to worry about at the moment

All the above came to just into 4 figures

now in body shop for another nice bill

Both sills ..... crunchy ends (only 5p sized but needs to be causght fixed (cut/welded if required) prepared and repainted with the right textured paint with waxoyl whilst exposed
Wing mirrors ..... the aluminium base which has blistered to be correctly prepared and repainted
bar in front of radiator to be cleaned and re-powdered as its got surface rust
other struts with 'bubbling' which hold the front bumper to be stripped, prepared and but back to original
detailed of engine bay

I keep telling myself its cheaper than playing golf, owning a labrador and taking 3 vacations a year ...
