Anyone bothered with dash camera's.

Thinking of front & rear bullet camera's. Front would be going in the grille area under the number plate possibly and the rear somewhere around the towing eye. Screen would be going inside the glove box.

Locations 'seem' easy to access and mount.

Obviously with the roof down parked up anything on the car is open to being nicked so a screen mounted wouldn't suit plus wiring be difficult with no headliner from a conventional roof.

I didn't even know about bullet dash cams, what a brilliant idea!

Yesterday, I installed a conventional dash cam near the rear view mirror. I got it for free from my father so I am not too fussed if it gets nicked and it was only £25 new. As for wiring it was usb-c coming out of the camera and I ran a wire along the gap between the black plastic trim and the windscreen, over to the drivers pillar. Then I remove the pillar cover and ran the wire down the edge of the pillar and in to the steering column cavity through a place near the drivers door. Next, I ran this wire across the steering column and to a 12v to 5v convertor that I placed behind the radio and wired in to the cigarette lighter wires through the gearstick cavity. Yes, it was quite an operation. But it is an option if you wanted

After all of that, I do think the idea of a bullet camera is probably better.

Only reason i'm going down the bullet camera route is i have them on 1 of my bikes. ( S1000XR )
Really easy to fit, easy to hide and fully waterproof.
I had INNOVV on the work bikes but they were unreliable and expensive. A bit of searching and i'm 100% certain ive got as good as the costly brands for a quarter of the cost. All App based, overlap recording, high capacity SD card and brilliant night vision which is my rule of thumb. The wires are quite long too which i see as no problem due to the shortness of the Z3.

Onwards to ordering a camera set ( £35 to 60 max ) no need to spend more.
