Active sc cooler I have been using for the power steering barfed up the fluid

Thinking it was hoses I cobbled together I went through the hassle of picking up the car only to find it was easily accessible on the ground.

Found a fitting to bridge the hoses, Filled up the fluid Tried to go for a drive.....

Said f it, came inside, was warm so opened the shade & saw...

Got as many pictures as I could from inside, went out & got a few before they said adios!

Pretty amazing how fast they can go from in a pool to gone.

Had another unsuccessful experience with an MS41 tuner, the person who built my motor got me a deal on a Megasquirt based standalone & tune for it. It will be here tomorrow & I'll install it.

It is similar to this but for S52.

Megasquirt is freaking amazing, I had it installed in under 20 minutes, the car started immediately, the tuner remoted into my laptop & set it up, it drove well in 15 minutes, 2 logs in, it is 98% there.

The computer has a MAP sensor onboard so the MAF is eliminated & it sees boost so the tuner can perfectly set it up & limit max boost so the motor doesn't blow up.

Also, the writes are so fast at first I didn't think anything happened. lol

Apparently, I'm damned.

I melted a forged piston.

9.0.1 JEs going in, I have a guy coming Thursday to pull the motor, I have a ton going on, no bandwidth to pull another motor.

I never got over 6lbs, or 5k rpm as it's a new motor.
The tuner thinks it's high intake air temps, he was seeing 160 degrees. Hence lowering the compression.

My next new engine is ready to be built.

See the red thing just past the motor? It's my stand, the builder has 12 & they are full.

Good news is I go to the front of the class.

I took the motor to the builder, I melted somewhat every piston & a piece of a valve!!!

On the happy news, on the 765 mile round trip I averaged 15mpg, best tank 18 (I filled up by 1/4-1/2 trying to get as many samples as possible. worst 9.

I left the house thinking hypermiling, made it 20 miles before an asshat was furnishing the fast lane & that was it. On the trip, I p***** off 2 F150s a twin turbo AMG Mercedes and a fuhraz 370z.

Builder is working on an e46 M3, it's S54 melted 1&6

Head will be ready tomorrow, block Monday or Tuesday, I got lucky, he found one for 350.
Water and methanol starting to go in.

Tapped the intake elbow for the injection nozzle.

Based the location on the only picture from the elbow's perspective I had.

Test fit the pump & reservoir.
