Hello fellow Z’s
I’d be very grateful for some guidance please on replacement headlights. My 3.0i is a RHD which I bought in France 2 years back; it came with a new Control Technique which has just expired. In years passed it has satisfied CT requirements with beam reflectors fitted; but my local test centre says no more. So I’m looking for replacements. OEM units are silly money (2000€) and I want new units rather than S/H. I like the style of Halo Projector units and have looked at possible suppliers on mainland Europe (so I can satisfy the various EU CT requirements) and there are several options, all with mixed reviews. So, before I take a leap of faith, have any of you got any observations or recommendations, please.

While I’m here, time is getting close - so happy Chrimble and a healthy 2026.

I fitted a set from here https://2xcite.co.uk , originally the all chrome version, then put originals back in but they wouldn’t adjust to pass the MOT so ended up fitting the black version. The beam is projector and in my opinion so much sharper than the originals, the DRL’s are a nice bonus.

Thanks David. The units look ideal yes, but no but I need LHD headlights. I've mailed 2excite to see if they can let me have details of the manufacturer so I can source locally, but I imagine they are one of many Asian variants. I wonder, does your set have any indication of source?

I am pretty sure they lack markings, will have a look when it stops raining. I recall when I bought these I had found a set identical but at a better price, on reading the fine print it turned out they were LHD so they are available.

I have something very much like these on my Z. I can say they work very well and this year I might start experimenting with different light options. Mine are definitely right hand drive, you can see it when you drive and especially if you come up to a wall.
I still have my original lights, I am planning to spend some time with them and clean them up, not sure what I will do with them but apparently they are of value!

Thanks Each for your obs. Having now spent hours surfing the net it was naive of me to think I could find a supplier of OEM equivalents for these headlights that were not sourced from East Asia (isn't everything now). Nowt wrong with that of course, provided I can sort the quality wheat from the chaff and find a reputable supplier. The UK supplier of headlights for RHD Z's (2excite - thanks Davidr) said that a LHD version of their headlight brand is available from FK Automotive in Germany ; that may be the source, if the product complies with European E-Mark standards.
