There's more than one alpine white. Even with the same paint code such as 300/III (Heller) or 300/III (Dunkel) meaning slightly lighter or darker with the exact same code. I'd be interested to know what is on the label.

Reason I'm asking is that I'm looking at colors for my rebody and off-white is on my list
I get it.

Ok gents updates throughout the week while I wait on the driveshaft (eta is Monday according to the shop) did some fine tuning of the carb with an actual vacuum gauge and boy it idles even smoother then the original m44 UPDATED RUNNING VIDEOalso got around to reinforcing the top half of the subframe reinforcement job( gonna do the lower part and the diff mounts sometime this up coming week alongside the driveshaft

Did a Randy Forbes style reinforcement with a plate at the bottom forming an upside down T shape and then connecting that in at the sides and on the edges
Also reinstalled the carpet, fuel cell and battery, just gonna make a little plastic guard so the battery doesn’t ground itself on the fuel cell (the loose wire was disconnected when taking it out but reconnected it it goes to my gas gauge)

Small update for the week I pick up the driveshaft tmr gonna reinforce the lower half of the subframe and diff mounts and do that all at once over the weekend, reconnected the fuse box so I was able to retain all of the stock functions like lights, windows, head unit, and wipers and sprayer, funny not forgot to mention the MASSIVE 5 liter windshield fluid reservoir still fits

been running the car for a few hours tinkering with it throughout the week everything is working stellar just needs to be able to actually connect the transmission to the diff, have a few things left to do once that’s done but nothing major
I intend to get it Dyno’d and the whole car weighed at the local scrapyard so I’ll be able to document exact weight of the car as is and the power (don’t get too excited it’s a stock 350)

that being said on the topic of weight if I had to guess I don’t imagine this car is going to weigh all that much more than the 6 cylinder variant (guestimate is maybe 300 lbs) which yes is a fair difference but 100 percent worth it in my case lol

Main issue will be putting all this torque to the ground and at such low revs.
Your main issue will be setting up the rear in such a way that it will not bite its tail at every corner. Unless its a straight line weapon.

It’s mainly just a mess around in a straight line car, it’s gonna be hard to find a good rear tire setup for sure but should be fine with how it’s at right now

called a friend and can verify that Style 32 (E46) — 18×8 ET47 will fit.
Any idea what tires he runs I’ll definitely have to get a set of those then if it can at least run something wider then the 225s it has atm

He has square rims but wider tyres in the back. Its up to you to pick sizes and try what suits you.
Perfect I actually just found a use set on marketplace by me I might pick up tmr and try them on (300 withRough tires but would be a cheap way to find out what works)

How difficult is it to convert to pre facelift wide body.

Fenders, rocker panels, rear bumper? The plastic covers under the fenders.

The suspension, trailing arm is different. I think I'd do those as well. Drive shafts.

There's maybe a couple other things I haven't thought of. Go to realoem.com and compare your car with say a 2.8 of the same year.

I think if I'd gone to the effort of fitting a V8 to a Z3 then doing the wide body conversion can't be more difficult.

Surely everything is available from junk yard?

There’s actually a local listing on marketplace with the rear bumper trunk and fenders from an m car that I’m looking into doing, it’s definitely something I’ll probably end up doing down the line I just want to do more research into it and dial in the car as is until then

Mine is a wide body running 295s. Will try and find my backspacing for the wheels and send a picture when I can.

It will be well worth the time converting it to a wide body in the future.

If you can get the parts I would. Others on here will confirm but I think it's all bolt on.
