So yep, added 2 new to me bimmers to my front yard in just under 2 weeks. This one is new territory to me as I’ve never owned an e89 before.
Here’s me picking her up in Al Ain,
Pretty sure that says “wash me” in Arabic. ;D
So yeah she’s a bit rough, but interior is not too bad, the pop up screen works, but will need replacing.. the turbo isn’t working,
Its not rego'ed atm, but drives fine but makes no power, It does have the dreaded roof issues, ie the boot not closing fully as the roof module or sensors are stuffed. Not too sure, but step one will be getting the boot to unlock. Ill need the boot to unlock to get through rego. after the boot is unlocked ill put her through rego and then ill start on the roof. It says roof module on the dash of the little flip up screen, and it comes with a bunch of codes ill look into once i can get the boot open.
Looks like it needs a helluva good wash. The interior is Imola. (at least i think thats the colour)
I am going to try to release the boot lock with pin 12 to the blue fuse in the fusebox. fingers crossed. There is no boot pull inside the boot, so that's not an option, and that ski hole is really narrow, pretty much useless to get inside the boot.
Took a bit of reading, but finally managed to unlock the boot. Pin 12 of the black connector into the fuse box onto the blue 60amp fuse.
Rigged up a button as I’ll need access to the boot while I sort the car and the roof issues.
So boot unlocks when you press the button.
Lol.. yes it’s a Sanwa arcade fire button.
Yep, it’s a bit of a project car..
I pulled out the cabin filter.. OMG!, I’ve never seen anything like that, on the upside, after replacing it with a new one, the aircon blows and is icy cold..
