My z3 roadster has been sitting a while this week i noticed water pooling behind the passenger seat. It a u.k car so that the left side.

One of the roof drains in the boot has to be blocked. The got covered immediately on finding this. I have tried soaking up the water but even though it covered now more water pools behind the seat. O new water can be getting in. The boot is also dry.

So can the water just be whats already in the carpet coming though? Given i have been mopping up the excess water every day this week and it keep coming and the wet patch in the carpet is not huge behind and under part of the passenger seat it feels odd a pool of water keeps appearing. I am not sure exactly where in the boot the drain is to unblock it.

I start drying it out once im able to get water to stop pooling. Currently it looks like new water is getting in but this happens even on a dry day which makes no sense as water is definitely not entering the car then.

The carpet has around 2 inches of foam in places so holds a LOT of water. Also theres nothing stopping water moving from under the seat to the footwell so the foam under the whole carpet will be sodden even if the front feels dry.

I get it holds alot of water but if it sodden that fine it can dry out. The wayer is wicking out by itelsef if water is not getting in. Thats the odd thing. Its not getting drying. It appears to be getting better without water being able to get in.

What im after is is this normal. If it is then I know the interior getting stripped and the carpet will have to be dried when it sunnier. Cant do much now in winter.

Try not to park car facing up hill as drain point each side of the doors
