The best engine is the one that meets your particular driving style and needs. Where I live everything is a highway drive to get to so huge HP never crossed my mind just handling and I find the M44 provides me with all of that and I have no desire for a larger engine. I have those in my American cars such as my 57 Chevy with well over 400HP and even my little 66 Mustang at 271 bone stock!! JMHO JIM

I've only ever driven my own Zed, so can't comment on which is best.
All I know is I love my Zed and can't imagine life without it. I'm sure we all love our Zeds, whatever engine they have.

I've driven both the 2.8 and the 3.2. They are completely different. The 2.8 was much more relaxing to drive but still fun when you wanted. Whereas the 3.2 is a handful all of the time. I only use it for fun so the 3.2 is my choice.

I have only driven my 3.0 so cannot comment on the others but the 3.0 is to me the perfect solution, very quick when you want and nice and relaxed at other times. It is also my first auto, I have driven autos before and not been impressed but the selectronic is great. Slip it into manual or sport for fun and leave it in auto for relaxed cruising. It also came in useful when I broke my ankle and had my leg in plaster for 3 months, just carried on as normal.
